Hannah Heale was born about 1678 in Lancaster County to George Heale and Ellen Rogers. Her father served as Burgess for Lancaster County. Hannah married William Ball III before 1697. He was the son of William Ball II and Margaret Williamson. When her father's will was written in on December 30th, 1697 it named son-in-law William Ball as an overseer of the estate. William and Hannah had at least seven children.

William served as a justice in the county court and soon after was elected Burgess, a position he held from 1703 to 1726. William and Hannah probably lived on the tract of land purchased by his grandfather, William Ball I the immigrant, that became known as Millenbeck. During his time as a Burgess the family divided time between Lancaster and Williamsburg. William is believed to be the builder of the mansion house at Millenbeck, it was built between 1710 and 1736 and was likely their home after he retired from state government.

Hannah and William's oldest son, William IV, died in 1742. William III wrote his will on August 14th, 1744 and did not mention Hannah or any other wife meaning she was probably already deceased.
