Mary Bryan

Mary Bryan was probably born before 1780. She married Joseph Rallings in King George on April 11th, 1798 and had five children. Joseph wrote his will on July 14th, 1805 and named Mary as his heir and executrix. Mary appears to have not remarried, but to have given up her life rights to Joseph's estate and had the property divided in April of 1821.

In November 1846 Mary purchased a slave named George from Harrison G. Howland, with a deed of trust stating that after her death he should be sold and the profit divided among her three daughters; Catharine, Milly, and Sarah.

Mary died sometime in the year 1852.

In February 1853 her daughter Sarah opened a chancery case to proceed with the sale of George and divide the profit into three parts, one portion to her, one portion to her sister Milly and one portion to be split evenly between the six children of their deceased sister, Catharine. Each child received $163 and the six grandchildren each received $27.
