Sheriff of Northampton County.

Argoll Yeardley, Jr. was born about 1644. He was the son of Argoll Yeardley, Sr. and Frances Knight. Argoll's grandfather was Sir George Yeardley who was knighted in England and royally appointed as Governor of Virginia for three different terms between 1615 and 1627. George Yeardley is also noted as presiding over the first representative government in America and also being one of the first slaveholders in America.

Court orders from July 28th, 1664 mention that Argoll chose John Custis as his guardian because his former guardian Thomas Ryding was out of the country. In January of 1671 Argoll married Sarah Michael. Argoll and Sarah had five children. Argoll served as a church warden at Hungars and signed a contract along with John Michael for the second church building built in Hungars Parish.

Argoll made a will on January 3rd, 1682 in Northampton County. His will does not seem to be listed in the county will books but the order books give the probate date. Some sources give Argoll's death date as August 29th, 1682. On November 27th, 1682 The Virginia Council ordered that his papers be delivered to his widow, Sarah. His will was probated on March 2nd, 1683 in Northampton County.
