A December 1677 entry in the Northumberland County Order Book lists payment to "John Moses for taking up a wench of Capt David Fox."
David Fox, Jr. owned at least two plantations in upper Lancaster county; Monaskon and another property that he referred to as "my hill plantation," that was located adjacent to St. Mary's Whitechapel. In 1692 when the General Assembly ordered each county to create port towns to centralize trading and tax collection David Fox and Robert "King" Carter were named as the trustees of Queenstown and established it as the county seat of Lancaster.
In 1691 David Fox recieved two land grants in Lancaster County jointly with William Rogers. A 36 acre tract was described at being on the northeast side of "Mountireall Great Swamp." The second parcel was 367 acres in the same area. In 1694 David Fox received three additional land grants in Lancaster County for tracts of 429, 128, and 200 acres. Two of the parcels were described as being on Fair Weather Creek, and third on branches of the Corrotoman River.
When David wrote his will in 1702 he left a gift to Saint Mary's Whitechapel, a gold lettered Decalogue, that is still on display in the sanctuary today. David died before October 10th, 1702. On that date his will was proven in Lancaster County Court.
