David received as many as 13 additional land patents between 1652 and 1666. In 1652 he was granted 4 tracts; 80 acres bordering his 1650 patent, 300 acres on the south side of the Rappahannock (part of Lancaster County at that time), 600 acres on the south-east of of Morattico Creek, and 800 acres "situated in the County of Lancaster, upon the south side of Rappahannock river forty four miles up the said river or thereabouts...". In 1653 David was granted 300 acres on western side of the Corotoman River "being commonly known by the name of Narrowneck." In 1662 he renewed the 800 acre patent for land 44 miles up the Rappahannock River. In 1663 David again renewed his patent for 800 acres to the north as well as the patent for 80 acres on Morattico Creek granted in 1652. In 1663 David received 300 acres at Poplar Neck in Lancaster County and 510 acres on the Corotoman River. In 1664 a grant was made to David for 238 acres in the north side of Lancaster County. In 1665 David 200 acres on the Corotoman. In 1666 a patent was issued to David Fox for 860 acres of woodland between the Rappahannock and Corotoman Rivers. All together these land grants totalled 5,288 acres or 8.25 square miles.
David Fox served as one of the first Justices for Lancaster County. He is also credited with providing the land that St. Mary's Whitechapel was built on. He was a vestryman there in 1660. He married first to Mary, widow of Arthur Clarke, and they had four children including David Fox Jr. After the death of Mary he remarried to Ann Mottrom, widow of David Wright and daughter of Col. John Mottrom. When David died in 1669 a silver Communion Cup was given to St. Mary's Whitechapel in his name. It was crafted by George Gathorne, a British silversmith, and is still used today.
The inventory of his estate was made in 1670, and filled 12 pages in the county clerk's record book. It was one of the largest inventories of colonial property in the county.
