Leanna Lee
Leanna Lee >> Elizabeth Jones >> Thomas Bell >> John Bell >> Elizabeth Bell >> Urbane Bush >> Robert Bush >> John Bush >> Savilla Bush >> Maida GeorgeLeanna married William Jones before 1705. He was the son of William Jones and Margaret Haynes. Leanna and William had seven children.
William wrote a will in 1740 and died before the following year. He left two slaves to Leanna, and two slaves each to daughters Elizabeth, Leanna, and Anne. He left one slave and lands in King George and Prince William to his son, William. Presumably his lands in Northumberland went automatically to his oldest son, John. He left Leanna use of his estate during the rest of her natural life.
Leanna never remarried and wrote a will in 1756. She left a feather bed and furniture to her grandson William Nelms. She left her daughter Leanna the rest of her estate, real and personal. Leanna died before May 12th, 1760, on that day her will was proven in Northumberland County Court.
Leanna's daughter, Leanna Jones, married to her first cousin, Charles Lee III. When she died she ordered the building of the brick wall around the Cobb's Hall burying ground.
