Winifred Smith
Winifred Smith >> William Sisson >> John Sisson >> Apphia Sisson >> George Franklin >> Frances Franklin >> Mark DameronWith her mother's consent Winifred married to Henry Sisson on February 5th, 1787 in Richmond County.
On September 21st, 1787 Col. Hudson Muse sold to a Henry Sisson "A tract of land in Richmond County - near the Beaver Dams." This may have been Henry and Winifred or it may have been one of the other Henry Sissons in Richmond County at the time.
In 1783 Henry Sisson was listed on the County tax list. The 1810 census lists a Henry Sisson as a family head as being over 45 with one male 10-15, two females over 45 and 11 slaves. A Henry Sisson is also listed in 1820 with family members including; one male under 10, one male 16-25, one male over 45, one female 10-15, one 16-25, one 26-44 and one over 45, plus one male slave under 14. Of those records the 1820 seems to be the best match.
Henry wrote his will on June 30th, 1821. He named "Winney" as his first heir to receive all of estate during her natural life. Next he left parcels of land to their sons John and Henry. He instructed that the rest of his estate should be divided between the daughters, Elizabeth Reynolds and Mary B. Sisson. The will was not proven in Richmond County Court until April 5th, 1830.
No further records are known for Winifred.
