George Eskridge

George probably held some county offices and positions in the local militia the same as his father, but it is difficult to distinguish their names in the records. George married Hannah Rust, daughter of Samuel Rust, and they had four sons and a daughter. George Eskridge, Jr. predeceased his more famous father. He died intestate and perhaps suddenly or by accident. On November 29th, 1732 an inventory was taken of his estate and his father was named as his administrator. Listed as his property was one servant woman and four slaves. A satin gown and silk apron listed in his inventory indicate that his wife has already died. Other items inventoried were a bay riding horse, mans hunting saddle, one old Bible and four other books. Livestock was listed as three cows and two sows.

In George Eskridge Senior's will dated two years later he left four slaves each to the four sons of his deceased son George as well as a parcel of land in what would later become Fairfax County to be divided between them.
