Judith Fleet was born about 1700 in Lancaster County to Henry Fleet and Elizabeth Wildey. Her father was a justice, sheriff and captian of the Lancaster County Militia. Judith's grandfather Henry Fleet was an English immigrant to Virginia in 1621. In 1623 he was captured by natives and held prisoner for five years. After his release he became a trader and used his relationship with the Indians to negotiate a truce after the 1644 massacre. That deal opened the Northern Neck up to settlement. Henry Fleet Sr. served as a Burgess, justice and lieutenant colonel in the Lancaster County Militia.

Judith married William Hobson, son of Thomas Hobson and Clark, on June 28th, 1723 in Lancaster County. William and Judith had five children.

Judith's father wrote his will in 1728 and left two slaves named Daniel and Pegg to her. He also lent three more slaves named Richard, Isaac and Hannah to Judith and directed that at her death they should go to Judith and William's daughters, Sarah and Judith Hobson.

William wrote his will on February 28th, 1738. William left land from his brother and a mill to their son John. Also to John he left the slave named Peg and her future increase. To his their daughters he left the 400 acres that he lived on and gave Sarah first choice of her parcel. Sarah also received a slave boy named Aron. To his Judith, William left the use of the slave Daniel and directed that if she married Daniel would go to their daughter Betty. He named wife Judith and sister Clark Hobson as the executors of his will. The will was proven September 10th, 1739.

In 1750 Judith's son, John Hobson, wrote a will but it was not proven until 1762. He left three slaves to his mother, Isaac, Millie and Billie.

Judith wrote her will on July 4th, 1766. To her daughter Sarah Fallin she left a "cool still." Judith's will was proven on September 8th, 1766.
