Nicholas George immigrated to Virginia with his parents. He inherited his father's land patents and was appointed a Constable in Lancaster County.

Nicholas George is thought to have been born in England around 1623. His parents were Nicholas George and Margaret, possibly Margaret Saward or Seaward. The family's first known record in Virginia was a land grant in Isle of Wight County in 1638 made out to Nicholas George Sr and John Grymsditch for 300 acres. In 1652 Nicholas received 700 acres in Lancaster County in exchange for his 1638 grant plus the transport of eight additional people to the colony. The land was described as being on the "north side of Rappahanock River up Corotoman River on the east side of the west branch." It seems likely that Nicholas Sr first came over on his own and then brought his family and others in 1652. In 1657 Nicholas Sr, Margaret, and Nicholas Jr signed a deed of sale for a parcel of land at Blackwater in Isle of Wight. Nicholas Sr died in 1661 and in 1662 Nicholas Jr renewed the patent on his father's 700 acre grant in Lancaster County.

Nicholas was appointed as a Constable in Lancaster County in 1667 and served at least one year. From his will and court orders after the execution of his estate it is known that he owned both slaves and indentured servants. Nicholas had children born as early as 1662, but the name of his wife is unknown. She predeceased him and Nicholas remarried in 1695 to Elizabeth Anne James, who was named in his will.

On March the 7th, 1700 when Nicholas wrote his will, he referred to himself as being sick and weak. He named his wife Elizabeth and son Benjamin as executors. In his bequests he did not make mention of land or a house. He left several items to his son Benjamin including a bed and a kettle. His daughter Ruth was named next and she also received a bed and a kettle. Nicholas next instructed that his three son-in-laws get "one shilling apiece and no more." His son Nicholas was given a carving knife and sons Elmore and William were also given one shilling each. Nicholas died before May 9th. On that date a court order named his son Nicholas III as executor of the will because Benjamin was still a minor and Elizabeth had refused to act as executor. The will was finally proven on July 12th, 1700 in Lancaster County Court.
