Like St. Michael Bassishaw, this church was also destroyed in 1666, rebuilt and later demolished. Anne's father, Sir Edward Osborne, was Mayor of London from 1583-1585. Her mother was Anne Hewett, whose father had also been Mayor of London in 1559. Robert and Anne had at least fourteen children, though many did not live to adulthood.
Robert worked in his father-in-laws business of trade as member of the 'Merchants of the Levant trading to Turkey and Venice' he was known as a Turkey Merchant. In 1618 he was a member of the Virginia Company and invested £112. He was named Deputy to the General Court, May 22nd, 1622, by King James I.
He died before May 16th, 1625, on that date his body was buried at St. Benet Gracechurch, London - which was also burnt in the Great Fire.
