John Clark II was an early surveyor in Richmond County.

John Clark II was born about 1723, probably in Richmond county. John's name appears on the Richmond county rent roll in 1746. He married Rebbecca Rhymer on November 3rd, 1750, they had at least six children.

In 1752 John was the Richmond county surveyor. In 1755 he received an inheritance of land from his fathers will, "on the east side of a branch of the Drinking Swamp." In 1783 he was recorded as living at Totuskey Fork. John is thought to have died about 1784. An order to inventory his estate was not issued until 1791 and not returned until 1793. Items in the inventory included; carpenter tools, a gun, a parcel of books, and a leather ladies side saddle along with one mare. It may have been that the estate was not inventoried until after the death of his wife.
