John Haggoman

He had a wife named Margaret, whom little is known about as well. She is thought to have been married once before marrying John. The couple had five children between about 1658 and 1668, all born on the Eastern Shore.

In 1665 John purchased land from Richard and Mary Allen. The property was on Hungars Creek, northwest of Machipongo. The land probably passed to his oldest son Marcus.

In January of 1668 John Haggoman was listed as an appraiser for the estate of John Andrews in Northampton.

John made his will on October 10th, 1672. He left to his oldest son Marcus; a hand mill, set of silver waistcoat buttons, gun and a cow. Isaac received a gun and a large silver spoon. John was left another hand mill and set of silver buttons. Daughters Comfort and Patience received four cows. John named his wife Margaret as executrix. John signed his will with a mark that looked like a capital "MW" with a horizontal line striking the letters through. The will was probated on November 28th, 1672.

Margaret remarried after his death to a man named Tomlinson. She was referred to as Margaret Tomlinson in the 1688 will of son John Haggoman, Jr. Her date of death is unknown.
