Richard was granted at least three different land patents. The first was dated October 28th, 1645 for 300 acres at Naswattock Creek. Bounded on the northern part by the Broad Creek. Another grant made in 1650 was for 250 acres at Naswattocke Creek, bounded northerly by the head of the Broad creek. Another 200 acre grant was made in 1654 in the woods between Nuswattocks and Hungars Parish branches.
In 1662 Richard Jacob purchased 300 acres of Richard Bundicke just south of the town of Pungoteague.
Richard remarried to Mary Clarke shortly after the death of his first wife and had five additional children.
On January 13th, 1663 Richard wrote his will. He instructed that he should be buried in his new orchard by the body of his son Abraham who had died the previous winter. He left his house to his wife Mary and instructed that Philip should continue to live on the plantation in a house called "The Stable." At Mary's death Philip should receive the entire 550 acre plantation, the bounds being described in the patents from 1645 and 1650. In addition to the main plantation Richard left 350 acres to Thomas Jacob at Pungoteague, 500 acres to Isaac Jacob at Pungoteague, 300 acres to William Jacob at "Charrities Branch," and 250 acres to son-in-law Edward Hammon. Richard signed his will by making a mark of a "R" and a struck through "I."
Richard's will was probated on March 2nd, 1663.
