Frances Stockley was born about 1640. She was the daughter of Francis Stockley and Joan Hall. Frances was named in her father's will on December 12th, 1655 in Northampton County, VA. She married Edward Sacker around 1660 and had three children. Edward died before March 6th, 1671 and Frances was named executor of his estate.
Frances remarried to John Barnes, Sr. the following year. Before they were married they both signed a statement agreeing that her children would receive what was due to them from their father's will:
Upon the consideration of a marriage to be solomized between us the subscribers, we do hereby oblige ourselves and heirs and executors to pay or deliver unto Bridget Sacker one feather bed and boulster when she shall attain the age of sixteen years and to deliver unto William Sacker his father's gun, and in consideration of a pistoll and cutlass to pay Francis Sacker such another as his father's gun is when they attain the age of eighteen years to all the premises we have hereunto set our hands this 3 May 1672.

Frances and John had another three children together.
John's name appeared on the 1674 and 1677 tax lists in Accomack County. Frances died sometime around 1677 because John remarried before April 16th, 1678.
